This is an opportunity to lead one of Victoria's most significant Koori justice portfolios, influence system-wide reform, and help ensure the justice system is culturally safe, responsive and effective for Aboriginal people and communities.
Reporting to the CEO of the Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV), the Executive Director, Koori Justice will lead the strategic direction, growth and delivery of Koori justice initiatives, ensuring Aboriginal voices, culture and self-determination are embedded throughout the Court. Leading a dedicated team and working closely with judicial leaders, Aboriginal communities and key stakeholders, you will champion cultural safety, oversee major reform initiatives, and drive better justice outcomes for Koori people across the state.
As a member of MCV's Senior Executive Group, you will:
- Lead the implementation of MCV's Self-Determination Plan and key Aboriginal Justice Agreement initiatives.
- Provide expert cultural and strategic advice to judicial officers, executives and government stakeholders.
- Drive cultural safety, workforce development and organisational change across the Court.
- Strengthen partnerships with Aboriginal communities, justice agencies and key sector stakeholders.
- Oversee the delivery and continuous improvement of Koori Court and other Koori justice programs.
- Lead major policy, reform and funding initiatives that advance self-determination and improve outcomes for Aboriginal people.

You are a respected Aboriginal leader with a deep connection to community and a demonstrated commitment to advancing self-determination, cultural safety and justice outcomes for First Peoples.
You will bring:
- Lived experience.
- Senior executive leadership experience within justice, government, community or related sectors.
- A strong understanding of Victorian Aboriginal communities, culture and justice issues.
- Proven success leading multidisciplinary teams, complex reforms and stakeholder partnerships.
- Exceptional strategic, policy and influencing skills.
- A passion for empowering Aboriginal communities and creating lasting change.
