Senior Apian Developer. Full time, fixed term position until January 2027. Applications close on 11:59pm Sunday 19 April 2026
Are you a developer who thrives at the intersection of innovation and impact?
We are looking for a Senior Developer to join our Digital Development Team. This is your chance to work on Amicus, our core case management system built on the cutting-edge Appian low-code platform.
In this role, you won't just be maintaining a system; you'll be a key architect in its evolution. From leveraging Low Code Development and automation to building a Centre of Coding Excellence, you will help us deliver a performant, user-centric platform that supports the vital work of the Victorian justice system.
What You'll Do
- Innovate with Low-Code: Design, develop, and implement custom software solutions using the Appian platform.
- Drive Modern Tech: Contribute to UI/UX improvements, process mining, and the integration of AI to streamline complex legal workflows.
- Collaborate & Lead: Work alongside internal stakeholders and external low-code experts to bridge the gap between business needs and technical excellence.
- Solve Complex Challenges: Undertake technical investigations within an Agile environment, diagnosing defects and optimizing relational data models.
- Build a Legacy: Help establish our internal "Centre of Coding Excellence," fostering best practices and mentoring the team.
Who You Are
You are a self-driven developer who enjoys the fast-paced nature of Agile delivery and the creative problem-solving of low-code environments.
You will bring:
- Technical Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced experience with Appian (or similar low-code platforms), SQL databases, API development, and JSON/XML.
- An Agile Mindset: You are comfortable with sprints, rituals, and iterative design.
- User-Centric Focus: You understand that great code is only effective if it solves real-world problems for the people using it.
- Clear Communicator: You can translate complex technical concepts into clear documentation and build strong relationships across the organization.
