The Office of Public Prosecutions (OPP) is an independent statutory authority responsible for preparing and conducting criminal prosecutions in Victoria on behalf of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). Matters prosecuted by the DPP and the OPP involve serious crimes or matters that are of significance to the fair and effective operation of the Victorian criminal justice system. The OPP consists of the Solicitor for Public Prosecutions and a staff of approximately 300 providing legal and corporate support to the DPP, the Chief Crown Prosecutor and Crown Prosecutors in the exercise of their independent roles in the criminal justice system.

Total Remuneration Package:  $178,500 - $231,439

The Office of Public Prosecutions currently has an opportunity for a General Manager Corporate Services. A full time, fixed term (up to 5 years) position has arisen as part of the Executive.

This role is responsible for actively overseeing all corporate business functions of the organisation and reports directly to the Solicitor for Public Prosecutions. The role's key purpose is to provide high level corporate advice to the Solicitor and ensure that the prosecution function is well supported. 

The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in leading a complex corporate administration through successful outcomes and demonstrated skills in developing, managing and improving business policies and processes. The successful applicant will also have the ability to work well under pressure in addition to a drive for excellence and professionalism.

  • A relevant business management tertiary qualification (highly desirable)
  • Current membership of a relevant professional association to ensure ongoing education and development would be well regarded
