HR and Payroll Officer

The Office of Public Prosecutions (OPP) is an independent statutory authority responsible for preparing and conducting criminal prosecutions in Victoria on behalf of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). Matters prosecuted by the DPP and the OPP involve serious crimes or matters that are of significance to the fair and effective operation of the Victorian criminal justice system. The OPP consists of the Solicitor for Public Prosecutions and a staff of approximately 380 providing legal and corporate support to the DPP, the Chief Crown Prosecutor and Crown Prosecutors in the exercise of their independent roles in the criminal justice system.

Position Details

HR and Payroll Officer

The HR team provides advice and guidance to managers and employees, and assists the OPP to attract high calibre employees. HR manages employee relations, learning and development (L&D), occupational health and safety, employee wellbeing programs, recruitment, career progression and retention, payroll and leave management.

As part of a small administrative team, the HR and Payroll Officer will contribute to the smooth and efficient delivery of HR services for the organisation which includes the delivery of high quality payroll services. They will provide professional and accurate advice to managers and employees for general HR and pay enquires.  Other responsibilities include general HR administration at all phases of the employee life cycle
