At the VBA, we are breaking new ground with the Cladding Audit and Rectification Project, having been recently appointed to 43 rectification sites across Melbourne. Due to this exciting announcement, we are looking for Fire Safety Engineers from across Australia to join the Inspections team to lead the charge on this iconic project.

In the role you will be working in a diverse team to provide technical engineering advice and guidance to both government and relevant stakeholders on the outcomes of the audit and process towards rectification of the widespread use of combustible cladding. You will identify trends in the environment with a capacity for systematic thinking, ability to analyse information, data and situations, identify issues, translate policy, assess impacts and propose options and recommendations based on sound rationale.

Essential Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in Fire Engineering
  • At least 4 years of experience in a similar role with a building services focus
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and client liaison skills
  • Strong communication skills at all levels (Technical and non technical)
  • Ability to mentor and coach junior staff
