We positively affect the lives of Victorians by examining government entities' effectiveness, reporting on inefficiencies, and recommending how to improve future performance.

What you'll do

Reporting to the Manager, Audit Quality, you will:

  • Demonstrate a strong knowledge of recent auditing standards
  • Play a key role in contributing to the design and implementation of audit templates, methodologies, and policy
  • Undertake research and prepare technical support documents for the Financial Reporting team and other audit staff
  • Assist in the development of training materials and information for VAGO audit staff
  • Keep up to date on relevant key trends and emerging technologies which may impact your business area

About You

You're a driven, pro-active individual who demonstrates a strong amount of professional skepticism in their approach to problem solving. You also:

  • Demonstrate technical expertise of the most recent auditing standards, legislation and regulatory frameworks
  • Have a track record of practically presenting concepts and highly technical information in a manner that is readily understood by non-experts
  • Are research oriented and demonstrate innovative thinking and continuous learning
  • Have Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Science, Technology, Economics or a related field, preferably at a postgraduate level.
  • Hold full professional membership with CPA Australia or the CAANZ or the IPA, as specified in the position description.
