The Metropolitan Waste and Resource Recovery Group (MWRRG) is a Victorian Government Statutory Agency. We work with industry and local government in metropolitan Melbourne on large scale waste management strategies that divert waste from landfill and maximise the sustainable recovery of materials from waste.

What you will do

This new and exciting position leads the procurement project for innovative advanced waste processing infrastructure technology that will divert waste from landfill through the recovery of materials and/or energy.

  • Must lead where necessary to drive the appropriate outcome, and conduct thorough stakeholder engagement.
  • Responsible for keeping senior management abreast of progress and issues, ensuring robust project management and reporting.
  • Develops detailed and highly professional documents, using robust analysis and reasoning, to communicate options and obtain buy-in for the recommended strategies and tactics

What you will bring

  • proven track record of managing end-to-end complex projects, ideally in the local or state government sectors
  • understanding of both local and state government legislative procurement controls
  • high level communication, negotiation and relationship building skills
  • tertiary qualification with experience in strategic procurement or equivalent construction engineering related procurement in the government sector
