Position Details

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Commercial, the Director, Projects - Commercial will provide leadership and commercial, contractual, procurement and financial oversight across VicGrid's multibillion dollar portfolio of projects. The role is essential in ensuring the successful delivery of VicGrid's complex projects and programs of work by mitigating risks and aligning commercial strategies with project goals to deliver optimal outcomes for Victorian consumers
The Director will lead a high-performing team embedded across various project and program teams, ensuring the delivery of consistent, high-quality commercial advice and support. This role will also work closely with stakeholders and lead complex commercial and project finance matters and negotiations ensuring projects are developed, procured and delivered efficiently and effectively to drive successful outcomes
What you will deliver
• Provide active leadership and expert advice to commercial and project delivery teams on commercial, contractual, procurement, financial and policy matters across VicGrid's projects and programs of work to deliver successful outcomes
• Lead the management of complex commercial matters, negotiations and disputes, ensuring strategic alignment, mitigating risks, and securing positive outcomes while maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders
• Lead and manage complex project finance activities and financial analysis, ensuring optimal financing solutions that align with objectives and drive value for Victorian consumers
• Oversee the development, procurement and delivery of VicGrid's projects and programs of work ensuring probity, transparency, alignment with governance and approval frameworks
• Oversee the management of financial outcomes and project timelines ensuring VicGrid's projects and programs of work are delivered efficiently and effectively achieving successful outcomes
What you will bring
• Exceptional commercial and business acumen, demonstrated through significant understanding and experience of commercial, contractual, financial, policy and related issues associated with large complex infrastructure projects, involving programs of multiple projects 
• Detailed knowledge and experience in infrastructure projects including complex procurement, project financing, collaborative contracting models, early contractor involvement, whole of life contracting, public private partnerships, concession arrangements, and complex infrastructure contracts  
• Previous experience in a government (or similar) environment including an appreciation of decision-making systems, processes, protocols, approach to risk and authorising environment
