About the role

The primary focus of the Program Lead Threat Management is to support Parks Victoria's environment programs through providing leadership, technical analysis and policy advice on conservation programs including invasive species, threat management and complex environmental management issues.

This role will develop and implement procedures and guidelines to support statewide implementation of best practice conservation program and threat management in parks and reserves within the context of relevant legislation and policies.

The Program Lead Threat Management will support or lead the development and review of strategic plans for conservation programs and support operational teams to plan and deliver complex natural values threat or conservation projects.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Qualification in environmental science, natural resource management or a similar discipline
  • Experience working in threat or wildlife management in the context of conservation land management
  • Experience in the development of conservation-based policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Understanding of Victorian environmental and land management legislation and policies
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills to provide timely and accurate advice
