Position Details

  • Full time with part time considered, ongoing position
  • Salary based on experience, range: $154,241 - $177,425 (pro rata) plus super

About the role:
In this dynamic role you will lead the Equality Law Program, overseeing design, funding, and delivery of services related to discrimination, sexual harassment and vilification. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement strategies and projects promoting equality. You will manage legal and support staff, provide mentoring, and support strategic advocacy and law reform. You will also develop relationships with stakeholders and contribute to program improvement. Additionally, you will provide leadership and advice on policy and legal issues and participate in planning and service delivery.

About Equality Law Program:
The Equality Law Program promotes substantive equality through casework, education, and policy reform. We empower individuals to obtain and retain employment, access services, receive fair compensation, and utilise the law to prevent future discrimination. We provide advice and representation to those experiencing discrimination, harassment, victimisation, and vilification in various jurisdictions.

About you:
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Proven leadership experience in the public and/or legal sector including a demonstrated ability to develop and meet strategic priorities and add value to the shared purpose of a large organisation.
  • Proven management experience, including a demonstrated experience and ability to lead a team to high performance, manage change and deliver on priorities.
  • Extensive experience in developing, implementing and evaluating high impact, successful and influential projects including service design and systemic advocacy.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the practice of discrimination law.
