Position Details

About the role: 

The Adviser, Executive Employment is responsible for supporting the provision of high quality, timely and accurate advice, both to the department and the Victorian health sector. The Adviser will support the delivery of executive HR services and provide expert advice on recruitment, onboarding, contracts, employment conditions, and remuneration in collaboration with key stakeholders across the department and health sector.

This role supports the Secretariat function of the Executive Remuneration Committee and the provision of advice to Chief Executive Officers and Board Chairs at Victorian public health entities in relation to the Health Executive Employment and Remuneration (HEER) Policy. The role deals with sensitive HR issues in a confidential and authoritative manner and aims to improve processes by facilitating the sharing of information and working closely with others.

About you:

  • Possess working knowledge of the Public Administration Act, VPSC Executive Employment Handbook, VPS Enterprise Agreement and other relevant employment legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated expertise in human resources, policy interpretation and development, employee relations and/or payroll administration
  • Proficient in HR information systems, data management and reporting
  • Experienced in developing HR communications, guidelines and documentation utilising excellent written and verbal communication skills demonstrated by an ability to explain HR matters in clear, accessible language.
  • Possess relevant tertiary degree and/or post graduate qualifications in human resources, business management or a related discipline.
