IT Business Process Analyst     

Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) – Information Technology (IT)

During a typical day you will be

A typical day will have you working with stakeholders across the organisation to model current and future state processes and collaborate with architects, developers and QA teams to ensure solutions land well. Your work will play a key role in supporting our digital transformation and upcoming changes some daily tasks will include: 

  • Analysing and documenting business processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Modelling current and future‑state processes using BPMN 2.0 and maintaining high‑quality process documentation.
  • Working closely with architects, developers, and other key stakeholders to ensure business needs align with IT outcomes.
  • Contributing to digital transformation initiatives, including roadmap development and planning for process-related change.

You will be a great fit for this role if you: 

  • Communicate complex information clearly and enjoy translating insights into structured documentation.
  • Build strong relationships, lead effective workshops, and excel in problem‑solving across technical and business domains.
  • Have experience mapping and improving processes across enterprise systems such as HCMS, ERP or similar platforms.
  • Bring practical knowledge of BPM, Lean, Six Sigma or relevant process improvement methodologies.
  • Are proficient in BPMN 2.0 and comfortable using process modelling tools such as Signavio, ARIS or Visio.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.
  • Professional certification in Business Process Management, Lean Six Sigma, Business Analysis, or an equivalent discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of TOGAF, IT strategy, digital transformation, and capability-based planning, as well as experience working within government or other regulated environments.

From here successful candidates will be invited to an interview conducted by a selection panel. This interview may take place in our offices located in the Melbourne CBD or online. 

Preferred candidates will be asked to undertake reference and probity checks and may undergo psychometric testing, which we use to inform your development in the first 6 months of your role.
