About the Role
Our Corporate Legal team provides legal services on corporate legal matters to State Trustees. We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Corporate Lawyer to join our team to provide legal advice to State Trustees on its obligations and rights, under the supervision of State Trustees' General Counsel and Senior Corporate Lawyer.

Duties

  • Provide legal advice, recommendations, referrals necessary for the organisation
  • Undertake research and draft advice to key stakeholders
  • Manage litigation matters for the organisation under the supervision of General Counsel
  • Review communication from a compliance perspective with in parameters of legislated law
  • Build and maintain strong partnering relationships with all key stakeholders
  • Draft documents after consulting with General Counsel and/or Senior Corporate Lawyer

 Skills & Experience

  • Admitted to practice as an Australian Lawyer
  • Eligibility to apply for a Practising Certificate under the Legal Profession Uniform Law (Victoria)
  • Relevant experience in providing legal advice to a corporate body
  • Highly developed professional communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Highly developed analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills
  • Highly developed computer literacy including competent use of Microsoft Office
