• Full time, 12 month fixed term role

• PTV G STS 1 $156,384 - $175,151 + 9.5% superannuation

About the role

The Principal Project Manager will effectively lead the management of project managers, providing leadership in program delivery, control and governance according within PTV's Investment Lifecycle (ILC) and delivered according to the Project Management Framework (PMF). 

What we're looking for

Essential (must have to be considered for the position)

  • Demonstrated evidence of extensive experience and ability to manage, oversee and govern high value, high profile, complex rail system or technology projects to an agreed whole of investment life cycle process and within a best practice Project Management Framework
  • Demonstrated understanding of the role of PTV, Program Delivery Division, Franchisees, Service Operators and other government agencies in the delivery of complex programs
  • Demonstrated detailed level understanding and ability to structure rail systems and infrastructure delivery program, commercial arrangements and successfully lead commercial negotiations with suppliers, franchisees and other stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills ensuring timely and accurate reporting and communicating on programs throughout all levels of the organisation
  • Exceptional stakeholder relationship management skills including the ability to negotiate and influence decisions at Executive level both internally and externally
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills ensuring timely and accurate reporting and communicating on projects throughout all levels of the organisation. 

Qualifications

Mandatory

  • Demonstrated success in managing large scale multi-stakeholder technology, IT or rail system transport projects.
  • Accredited practitioner in relevant project management methodologies (PRINCE2, PMBoK, Agile, Waterfall, SDLC) 

Desirable

  • Postgraduate qualification in business.
