We’re the Level Crossing Removal Authority (LXRA); we deliver great change and transform the way Victorians live, work and travel. We were established in 2015 to oversee the largest rail infrastructure project in Victoria’s history, including the elimination of 50 dangerous and congested level crossings across Melbourne by 2022. To date, 28 level crossings have gone, 14 train stations have been rebuilt, and so much more is happening!

  • Executive Officer Level 2 remuneration range of $210,670 - $337,194 including superannuation
  • Full time, fixed term opportunities for up to three (3) years
  • Multiple roles at various locations across Melbourne

The impact you could make:

To continue this exciting work, we have an opportunity for an experienced Project Directors to join our dynamic Project Delivery team.  Reporting to the Director, Delivery, you will lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver a package of works within specified scope, time and budget.   You will manage internal and external relationships to achieve project objectives and mentor Project Managers in all aspects of rail and road engineering and construction.  You will provide advice to senior management, including the Chief Executive Officer, on project issues and work closely with our engineering and construction teams.  You will need to ensure timely effective delivery of Expressions of Interest, Requests for Tender, tender evaluations, contract award and quality and risk management throughout projects.  Your ability to anticipate and address potential legal, political, environmental and commercial risks associated with a multi-billion-dollar project, with a very high level of public scrutiny, will be crucial to your success.

About you:

You have a track record of significant achievement in managing large engineering, construction or transport infrastructure projects, ideally in rail. A natural leader, your ability to effectively manage a broad range of matters affecting project delivery, including those of a legal, land, planning, environmental or political nature, as well as procurement, commercial and contract management in complex infrastructure projects, will ensure your success. A strong understanding of the Government's policy objectives and transport strategies, and an excellent grasp of construction industry issues, trends and stakeholders, is crucial.  A relevant qualification in an Engineering or Science-related discipline is essential.
