About the Role

• Classification: Locally Engaged Staff (LES)
• Work Location: Victorian Government Trade & Investment (VGTI) office in either Bengaluru or Mumbai
• Employment Type: Full time, Fixed Term – 2 years (incorporating 2 x 1-year fixed term contracts)

A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior education professional to join the Victorian Government Trade & Investment (VGTI) network. If you possess an extensive background in international education, business development and relationship management, together with a detailed understanding of the global business environment (in particular as it relates to India and Victoria, Australia), then this is the role for you.

Reporting to the Commissioner for Victoria, South Asia, this position will require an understanding of the cultural, economic and political environment in India, the major issues that impact education in the South Asia region and a sound understanding of the Australian education and training system.

Successful Candidate

The successful candidate will possess:

1. Demonstrated experience in international education and market development across South Asia.
2. Solid understanding of the Australian education and training sector, including the higher education, vocational education and training, research, ELICOS, Schools and emerging transnational education models, together with an understanding of relevant regulatory and compliance frameworks
3. Demonstrated experience in managing people, developing and delivering high level strategies, complex projects and budget management.
4. High level communication skills and proven ability to establish and maintain relations with key external and internal stakeholders.

The successful candidate for this locally engaged position will be responsible for all costs and arrangements in relation to relocation (if applicable), visa, accommodation and day-to-day living expenses.
