Position Details

The Court Transcriptionists are responsible for producing accurate, correctly formatted transcript from digital recordings of court proceedings (including live proceedings). The VGRS provides transcript to various jurisdictions, each of which has individual formatting requirements. Transcriptionists type at sustained speeds from recordings of court proceedings and contribute to the production of transcripts within strict timelines, including twice-daily delivery of transcript. The work performed is specialised. There is a great variation in the content of material typed, range of forums recorded and complex subject matter with difficult terminology. Transcriptionists must work to the needs of the court in relation to the production, merging and timely delivery of transcripts.
