Koorie Education Co-ordinator

This position plays a key role in the coordination and provision of support to the regional Koorie Education workforce and multi-disciplinary Area teams within the Region. The occupant of the position will have a high level understanding of the current education and early childhood development reform agenda, particularly as it relates to Koorie children, young people and the broader Koorie community. The Koorie Education Coordinator will be an active member of the multidisciplinary Area Service Support Team and is required to develop strong relationships with the regional Manager, Koorie Education schools, early years’ service providers, central and local consultative groups, other community and government agencies and stakeholders.

Position Details

The Department of Education and Training is seeking a Koorie Education Co-ordinator to work as part of an area based multi-disciplinary team in Outer Gippsland (covering the local government areas of Wellington and East Gippsland).  The role is identified as being available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants only.  The role will provide direct line management to a team of Koorie Engagement Support Officers (KESOs) whilst also establishing strong relationships with early childhood service providers, schools and local consultative groups in the Area.   High level understanding of the current education and early childhood development reform agenda, particulary as it relates to Koorie children, young people and the broader Koorie community  will be highly regarded.
