Executive Assistant to Associate Justice Daly and Associate Justice Irving at the Supreme Court of Victoria – Associate Judges' Division

  • Full time, fixed term roles
  • $73,842 per annum + 10.5% superannuation (VPS Grade 3.1 position)
  • Roles based in the Melbourne CBD; hybrid working arrangements are a feature of this role

About us

The Supreme Court of Victoria (the Court) is the highest court in Victoria and comprises the Court of Appeal and the Trial Division. The Court deals with major criminal and civil matters, plus appeals against decisions of lower courts.

About the role

The Executive Assistant role is located within the chambers of Associate Justice Daly and Associate Justice Irving. Along with the Associate, the Executive Assistant provides high level administrative and legal assistance to both Associate Judges, in chambers and in the courtroom. This requires a high degree of sensitivity and professionalism as you will be working closely with Supreme Court Judges, court staff, legal practitioners, and members of the public.

About you

To be successful in the role of Executive Assistant you will possess the following:

  • Excellent attention to detail and typing skills
  • Well-developed proofreading skills with proficiency in grammar
  • Exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment
  • Excellent computer literacy and administrative experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to confidently and accurately convey information over the telephone, in writing and in person to members of the legal profession, the public
  • Legal experience, although not mandatory, is highly desirable. 

The ideal candidate will be a service-orientated person with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. Possessing a strong work ethic, efficiency, can-do attitude, and eye for detail, the successful candidate will manage competing priorities and strict timeframes with ease and thrive in a collaborative and close-knit team.
