Position Details

We are seeking an experienced Senior Policy Officer who will develop the VBA's policy and reporting position on cladding-related operational issues.

By working closely with data analysts, project managers, building inspectors, building surveyors and other technical experts, this position will capture the anticipated lessons of this significant State government initiative. You will also work with the Divisional leadership to formulate advice on these matters for key stakeholders.

The successful candidate will possess policy capability to support the divisional leadership and report on learnings and progress to key internal and external stakeholders.

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this position, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience preparing policy positions for government.
  • Proven experience in preparing accurate and succinct Board, governance and dashboard reports.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations to a range of stakeholders at all levels.
  • Outstanding written communication skills with demonstrated ability to prepare clear, concise and accurate reports, briefing memoranda and recommendations on complex issues.
  • Sound research skills and a capacity for systematic thinking and ability to analyse information and situations, identify      issues, assess impacts and propose options/recommendations based on sound rationale.

Salary Details

Base salary in the Grade 5 range of $95,275 - $115,276 per annum (plus 9.5% super), will be negotiated with the successful candidate, depending on skills and experience.
