Position Details

Position Title: Senior Regional Investigator

About the Role:

Utilise your strong investigative and brief preparation skills in this newly created role where you will be supporting a number of teams involved in regulatory activities by conducting investigations and preparing briefs of evidence to support compliance activities including criminal prosecutions.

You will be one of the Major Investigations Unit's primary investigators of high profile or significantly complex regional investigations and will include assisting in the leading and mentoring of investigation teams across the state.

These are complex investigations where you will be gathering and analysing information received from a variety of sources, managing witnesses and evidence, preparing documentation, representing the EPA in court, and giving evidence to support prosecutions against non-compliance of the Environment Protection Act, 1970.

To be Successful in this Role:

You will be an excellent communicator who is organised and a good planner, with the ability to articulate clear purpose and direction. You will understand the law and be able to work unsupervised and possess good decision-making skills. 

You will need to have experience in preparing briefs of evidence to the criminal standard, with a background in compliance and enforcement and the ability to work well in a team and collaborate.
