The Role:                                  

To assist in the delivery of competency based training and assessment programs throughout North East Victoria and provide support, coaching and mentoring to volunteer trainers/assessors. Maintain volunteer training and assessment records to meet VICSES RTO compliance and VICSES OHS standards. 

Whilst this is a non-operational position, this role may provide support to operational staff during major or declared operations. 

This position is based at the VICSES North East Office, located at 64 Sydney Rd, Benalla, VIC, 3672

Your accountabilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Maintains a standard of best practice by coordinating and applying contemporary vocational and education training and assessment techniques for the implementation, delivery and administration of competency based training programs
  • Support the Region to maintain a level of Operational Readiness by monitoring specified Units' competencies on TRAIN and support the Unit to develop plans to reduce training gaps in Operational Capability Information Framework (OCIF)
  • Contribute to the Region's ability to provide an appropriate response capacity by advising, coaching, supervising and monitoring Unit Trainers in the delivery of the Unit training plan
  • Support compliance to VICSES RTO status by participating moderation activities, quality assurance, and validation of assessment materials
  • Contribute to quarterly reports on the delivery of Training activities against the Unit and Regional Training plans.

You will have:

  • TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent
  • A sound knowledge of, and experience in working within a national competency based training framework environment
  • Victorian drivers licence
  • Sound written and communication skills, including presentation skills and a high level of facilitation skills
  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to achieve the competencies required to deliver and fulfil the role
  • Successful applicants may be required to undertake psychometric testing as part of this role
  • A Working With Children Check is required
