About the Opportunity

The Payroll Advisor is the primary point of contact for payroll related enquiries at State Library Victoria.  The role is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of payroll services, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing and data integrity of employee records. Reporting to the Manager - Payroll and HR Systems, the Payroll Advisor works closely with employees, Library managers and external providers to support the entire employee lifecycle.

 

About You

We value your ability to run payroll processing independently from end-to-end, and your capacity to exercise sound judgement when responding to service requests. While familiarity with Aurion is preferred your super-user capability in payroll systems, coupled with your ability to navigate Enterprise Agreements for payroll implications, will stand you in good stead for success in the role. Importantly, you understand the need for confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive employee information.

In addition, you will come to us with:

  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining an end-to-end payroll service, including independently running payroll processing.
  • Well-developed systems capability to support accurate and efficient payroll outcomes (experience with Aurion preferred)
  • Knowledge of, and ability to interpret, policy and Enterprise Agreements as they relate to pay and remuneration entitlements.
  • Sound organisational skills to ensure competing priorities are managed within timeframes, including the ability to discern when urgency and confidentiality are needed.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and written communication skills.
