Senior Legal Assistant, Government and Public Law

An exciting ongoing opportunity exists for an experienced and enthusiastic Legal Assistant to join our Government and Public Law Branch and take the next step in their career. This role will provide a range of high level legal and administrative support duties for solicitors in the branch and will, under supervision of a Branch Team Leader, will be responsible for the leadership to a small team of legal assistants. 

If you have demonstrated experience in providing high level administrative assistance in a legal support position within a legal environment, strong attention to detail, flexibility and experience in leading a small team, we are keen to hear from you.


About the role:

Key duties of this role include:

  • Supervision and mentoring of a small team of legal assistants (1 - 2 team members)
  • Supporting an allocated team of solicitors
  • Provide a range of confidential administrative legal support services
  • Preparing collate an array of documents with accuracy and efficiency
  • File management – maintaining legal files in electronic and hard‑copy format
  • Diary and email management – monitoring inbox and calendar
  • Telephone assistance – both incoming and screening
  • General administration – photocopying, couriers, billing, relieving reception
  • Looking for ways to reduce the administrative workload of your solicitors
