Position Details
About the Role
The Salesforce Functional Analyst (VPS3) supports the translation of business needs into clear, actionable Salesforce requirements, working within defined standards, patterns, and governance frameworks. They collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and technical teams to document user stories, process flows, and configuration requirements, ensuring solutions are feasible, compliant, and aligned to user and business outcomes. The role contributes to delivery by supporting testing, validating configurations, and identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce administrative burden.
They bring strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to interpret business processes and articulate them in structured, platform-relevant formats. They are detail-oriented, methodical, and comfortable working within established delivery practices, while proactively seeking guidance on more complex scenarios. The role requires a collaborative mindset, openness to feedback, and a focus on continuous learning, particularly in understanding Salesforce capabilities, government standards, and user-centred design principles.

As the ideal candidate, you will demonstrate:
- Foundational understanding of business analysis and Salesforce platform concepts, with the ability to support translation of business requirements into user stories, process flows, and functional specifications
- Experience contributing to requirements gathering activities, including workshops and stakeholder discussions, with the ability to document clear, structured, and testable requirements
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret business processes, identify gaps, and support practical, platform-aligned solutions
- Developing stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with product, design, and technical teams and clearly articulate requirements and decisions
- Ability to work effectively within Agile delivery environments, with a growing understanding of system constraints, data structures, and how configuration decisions impact user experience and operational outcomes
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- 2 years practical experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Analyst
- Experience working with Salesforce, particularly Education, Service or Public Sector Cloud
- Experience within complex regulatory environments and government settings desirable
