Fixed Term Part Time (0.6FTE) Maternity Relief through to September 2019

We are seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, flexible and patient-centred Clinical Support Nurse who will be an active member of our Education Department for this fixed term, maternity leave cover role. Reporting to the Education Manager, this will be a hands-on role providing direct clinical support and supervision to nursing students at all year levels to support and facilitate a rewarding placement experience. At different times, the role also provides clinical support to existing staff via clinical facilitation and supervision and works towards assisting clinical staff to develop their professional skills.

 This position is available for immediate commencement. Work roles include provision of point of care clinical supervision and support, report writing, conducting student orientation and debrief sessions in addition to organisation of student rosters.

 This position provides an opportunity for a Registered Nurse to develop professionally, working within the world of clinical education and student development.

 The successful candidate will:

  • Be a Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
  • Demonstrate recent and evidence-based clinical practice in an acute area
  • Engage in multi-modal education methods to provide evidence-based and quality learning for students and staff
  • Possess well developed assessment skills to provide clinical intervention and care appropriate to your scope of practice.
  • Possess sound communication, interpersonal, leadership and documentation skills and an understanding of person centered care
  • Possess effective time management skills
  • Possess knowledge of relevant legislation and policies/procedures
  • Expertise in report writing
  • Strong ability to work with a dynamic and diverse team
  • A personal commitment to ongoing education and development
  • Provide active and collaborative involvement in clinical care of patients.

A current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and postgraduate qualifications in education or equivalent expertise is highly desirable.
