The Hospital:

Stawell Regional Health (SRH) is a major health provider in the Grampians region with an extensive range of services including acute, sub-acute, community and aged care.

The Role:

We are seeking applications for a Dietitian who is motivated, team focused, and interested in enhancing their skills working in the public sector regionally. This position is suitable for new graduates or experienced Dietitians.

The successful applicant will be part of a dynamic department of two Dietitians, and over twenty other Allied Health professionals.

The grade 1 Dietitian position allows for a varied workload including acute care, community outpatients, aged care, group education, assisting dietetic students where appropriate and the opportunity for health promotion work.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Provide evidenced based Dietetics services across the continuum of care including Outpatients, Inpatients, and Aged Care residents and to contribute to Integrated Health Promotion activities.
  • Consult with internal and external stakeholders on issues of Dietetics, including education and in-services
  • Participate in multidisciplinary care coordination / shared care meetings
  • Participate in quality improvement activities
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and clinical supervision activities
  • Develop and maintain educational material and brochures
  • Deliver health promotion activities in line with Stawell Regional Health's Integrated Health Promotion Plan
  • Attend internal and external meetings as required
  • Maintain accurate activity statistics to enable data reporting as required.
  • Maintain professional standards in accordance with the Dietitian's Associated of Australia (DAA) code of Professional Standards and Code of Conduct.
  • Promote the role and service of Dietetics
  • Works with students

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential:

  • Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and Professional registration with appropriate body (DAA)
  • Demonstrated ability in providing a service to acute hospital, community outpatients, rehabilitation and aged care in accordance with Dietitian's Associated of Australia (DAA) code of Professional Standards and Code of Conduct.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication, time management, and organisational skills to ensure effective teamwork
  •   Demonstrated initiative, flexibility and   problem solving skills and have the ability to operate in an environment of   change.
  •   A commitment to professional development
  •   Experience in undertaking quality improvement   activities, or knowledge of quality improvement principles.
  •   Proficient IT skills
  •   Australian drivers licence
 

Desired:

  •   Experience with undertaking health promotion   activities.
