The Role:

As the Chief Pharmacist you will work with another part-time Pharmacist and two Pharmacy Technicians and will oversee all aspects of medication delivery and management across the Stawell campus. This role requires a pharmacist with broad experience in hospital pharmacy practice as it incorporates many aspects of hospital pharmacy with both clinical and operational focus.

As the Chief Pharmacist you will work collaboratively with the Directors of Pharmacy at both the Ballarat and Horsham campuses to progress our strategic objectives. Day-to-day support, professional networking and education opportunities will be available through the Grampians Health Pharmacy team. 


The role will include a one-week handover period with the incumbent Chief Pharmacist.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the following:

  • Clinical review and Medication Safety improvements
  • Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy treatment reviews and ordering
  • Good working knowledge of the PBS, particularly Efficient Funding of Chemotherapy
  • Heavy input into Quality Projects, including the production of new or the updating of existing policies and procedures
  • Oversight on medication related activities in our Urgent Care, Perioperative, Residential Care and District Nursing departments
