- Salary $109,730 - $132,764 plus 11.5% superannuation – VPS Grade 5
- Based in Melbourne CBD with hybrid working arrangements

The opportunity
The SRO is seeking a skilled and experienced program/project accountant to join our busy and dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in the financial management of our Business Technology Services (BTS) programs and projects. If you have a strong background in accounting, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to ensuring strong financial outcomes, we want to hear from you.
Reporting to the Business Technology Services Portfolio Accountant, you will be responsible for:
- Providing program/project financial quality assurance on all relevant project documentation (Initiative-on-a-page, business cases and change requests) and providing financial advice and strategic program/project financial analysis/modelling to support project-related decision making and delivery.
- Providing high-level and detailed advice to BTS managers on project resourcing, costs, benefits, risk and issues.
- Maintaining service delivery standards with an emphasis on continuous improvement and quality management principles.
- Providing program/project reporting and forecasting for allocated BTS project/portfolio including monthly financial reporting.
Who we are looking for
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Financial Management Services: Demonstrated ability to provide financial management advice and support to Executive and Senior management, including proven ability to critically review business cases and provide financial analysis to support expenditure proposals and funding options.
- Financial and IT business systems/approaches: Extensive experience in the use and management of enterprise level portfolio, program and project management software and advanced skills in MS Excel, including significant understanding and/or experience in Waterfall, Agile, and DevOps software delivery methodologies
- Financial Management Services: Demonstrated ability to communicate complex financial analysis and information to a wide variety of audiences in an appropriate format.
- Critical thinking and problem solving: Demonstrated high-level conceptual, analytical, and problem- solving skills.
- Resilience and Agility: Demonstrate ability to maintain composure and effectiveness when faced with uncertainty. Highlight proactive approach to address ambiguous challenges.
