Position Details
Tax Advisory roles
- At least two (2) ongoing and one (1) fixed term (up to 18 months) roles in the Tax Advisory and Review Branch, Policy Advisory and Legal Services Division
- Salary $79,122 plus 12% superannuation – VPS Grade 3
- Based in Melbourne CBD, with hybrid working arrangements

The opportunity
These tax advisory roles deal with state tax objections and ruling requests from external stakeholders.
Reporting to the Team Leader, the Technical/Review Officer will be responsible for:
- effectively managing a portfolio of low- to medium-complexity objections and/or private rulings across all revenue lines
- participating in inter-branch consultation regarding the application of legislation, the development of tax policy and draft legislation and the conduct of litigation.
Who we are looking for
To be successful in these roles, you will have:
- sound research, analytical and investigative skills to review low to medium complexity objections and provide tax technical advice
- excellent communication skills
- the ability to interpret and apply legislation in a complex legal and commercial environment
A relevant qualification in law, accounting or commerce will be well regarded. If you are a graduate, or are experienced in law, accounting or commerce, we encourage you to apply.
