  • Salary $74,580 plus 11.5% superannuation – VPS Grade 3
  • Based in Melbourne CBD or Ballarat, with hybrid working arrangements

The opportunity  
The HR Consultant's primary purpose is to support, coordinate and administer State Revenue Office (SRO) recruitment, selection and induction activities while providing support for general HR operations and the wider Human Resources team.

Reporting to the HR Services Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating and administering recruitment, selection, induction, and probation processes.
  • Presenting information at induction programs, staff information sessions and briefings and via the SRO intranet.
  • Providing expert advice based on relevant agreements, policies and legislation to staff and managers on human resource matters.
  • Establishing, maintaining and administering a range of records on our digital databases i.e., CHRIS21, MyCareer, Springboard (eRecruitment system), Jira and CM10; manual files and other digital databases.

Who we are looking for
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Generalist HR experience in a contemporary HR environment, preferably in the public sector in the areas of recruitment and selection and general HR.
  • A good understanding of employment law and demonstrated ability to interpret apply and provide advice on relevant HR legislation, industrial agreements, and policy.
  • Proven ability to plan and prioritise own work, multitask and use analytical skills to undertake and participate in projects to improve HR service delivery.
