Position Details

THE ROLE

The Regulatory Officer supports regulated entities' compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory obligations and assists with activities in the East, South, West and North Divisions when directed by the relevant divisional Team Leader, Regulatory Compliance and Enforcement. This includes conducting monitoring activities of regulated entities, providing regulatory advice and guidance to promote compliance with legislative obligations, and implementing the full suite of regulatory tools, including sanctions, to address non-compliance.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

  • Support complex, sensitive inspections and investigations of regulated entities (both proactive and responsive), negotiate resolution and – where necessary – prepare and present evidence to inform regulatory action.
  • Provide advice and guidance to regulated entities on behalf of the Social Services Regulator in complex matters to support their compliance with regulatory responsibilities.
  • Provide advice, recommendations and innovative program options and solutions to the Team Leader to support continuous improvement of the unit's regulatory approach.
  • Develop options and implement projects to address specific industry or sector issues to support the desired outcomes of regulatory activity.
  • Record high quality data from compliance and investigation activities in relevant systems, according to exhibit management principles (including evidence requirements, investigation approvals and authorities).
  • Collect, analyse, manage and communicate data and intelligence as inputs to regulatory compliance and enforcement, and apply a range of quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques and tools and communicate outputs.
  • Where required, participate in regional and State-wide development of information and data collection systems.
  • Apply sound regulatory knowledge in providing advice on implications of complex regulatory matters.
