  • Support project management initiatives through planning, delivery and reporting

Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is a volunteer-based emergency service. Our highly skilled and equipped Volunteers are trained comprehensively in a wide range of emergency environments. To minimise the impact of emergencies when they occur and strengthen the community's capacity to recover swiftly and safely, VICSES focuses on working with communities and partners in building resilience to achieve more aware, informed and prepared communities.  We support them to understand their risk and the relevance of taking action before, during and after emergency events.

As the largest road rescue network in Australia we have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents. We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), Parks Victoria and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) during major bushfire and emergency incidents.

This position is available due to VICSES implementing a new operating model with a change to the structure of roles, to best serve the needs of our community and our people.

The Strategy and Performance Lead is responsible for leading the development, maintenance and governance of VICSES project portfolio and project management office (PMO). The role ensures the portfolio is strategically aligned, delivers to the agreed benefits and outcomes within allocated budget, provides oversight of project portfolio health and helps embed project portfolio governance and best practice across VICSES. It will also take responsibility for the coordination of strategic and performance reporting across VICSES, including to the VICSES Board and Executive, government and other central agencies to build a culture of accountability and performance.
