Position Details

FirstRate5 is Victoria's leading residential thermal performance assessment software. FR5 is one of three tools in the Australian market that is accredited to provide the mandatory star rating for new homes.

This software application was created by SV to allow Thermal Performance Assessors (TPAs) across Australia to simulate and compare the heating and cooling energy demands of residential dwellings. When the application is used in conjunction with the FR5 website, TPAs can obtain a Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS) Universal Certificate to demonstrate that a dwelling complies with the 6 Star energy efficiency provisions under the National Construction Code of Australia (NCC).

This is a unique role offering an experienced lead developer the opportunity to drive improvement in the software rating tool FirstRate5 (FR5) one where you will work closely with the FR5 team and IT contractors to manage the design and delivery of an ongoing list of customer led improvements to ensure software enhancements and upgrades (desktop application and website) are delivered in a timely and efficient manner.

The role will be responsible for maintaining, designing and developing product features and enhancements while working closely with a cross functional team to Manage the operation and performance of the website and upgrade the website code as required (ASP.net, Azure)

To be successful in this role you will require excellent coding experience with Java SE and Swing (UI) as well as Ant and NetBeans (or related programming language) ideally in website code development.
