Position Details

Who we are

Service Victoria is the one place to go for government services. It's our job to make things easy. Our customers give our services an overall 96% satisfaction score, and our app was the most downloaded in Australia for 2021.

The Service Victoria culture is dynamic and fast-paced, we're not what you'd expect from a government department. We work flexibly and remotely, using our workspaces in Footscray and Ballarat for onsite collaboration. We have a mature digital services platform of contemporary cloud-based infrastructure, technical architecture and scalable and reusable common capabilities, with real-time integration into agency legacy systems.

Service Victoria is an Administrative Office attached to the Department of Government Services (DGS). DGS was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government.

Service Victoria and DGS are bringing important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses.

The Opportunity

As Service Victoria grows, and moves into its operational phase, we will continue to progressively add new transactions and new functionality to existing capabilities, including digital licences, digital proof of identity, online accounts and payments with a particular focus on our mobile app.

Service Victoria is now focused on building the future organisation and the appropriate IT organisation structure and capability that will allow the implemented solutions to be maintained, supported and expanded upon on an on-going basis. You will also have a chance to work on continuously improving our service offering by bringing in structured improvements based on data analytics and insights

This is an exciting opportunity to join a large, sophisticated digital agency where you can further your skills and make a difference. We will invest in your skills and training, and you'll get to work side-by-side with experienced developers.

To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Working as part of the squad's parent tribe to undertake software analysis, design, development, configuration and testing.
  • Be accountable for maintaining, supporting, and upgrading complex Salesforce software systems.
  • Design and develop improvements to Salesforce, ensuring code and configuration has been tested and debugged.
  • Oversee coding standards and ensure adherence including conducting code reviews.
  • Lead the team's design of Salesforce solutions, and seek endorsement from relevant parties in other squads, tribes, and business areas.
  • Mentoring and coaching of junior team members and setting technical standards and approaches for the team.
  • Lead the team's technical decisions (in conjunction with squads that built tools).
  • Share accountability for Integrated Test Plan Documents, alongside the quality analysts.
