Position Details

At the Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department), we're always looking to increase our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (Aboriginal) workforce. We're recruiting people who want to make a difference, take pride in their work and be a part of meaningful change.

About the department

We want to maintain our commitment to delivering stronger career development for more Aboriginal people. We also want strengthen our solid partnerships with Aboriginal communities across Victoria.

The Aboriginal recruitment team aims to support, attract, recruit and retain Aboriginal candidates and employees. This support includes a culturally appropriate attraction and recruitment process.

Opportunities for Aboriginal people at the department

The department aims to recruit Aboriginal people across all roles in all business units. This includes roles speficically designated or prioritised for Aboriginal candidates, as well as opportunities open to general applications.

These jobs provide vital cultural support Aboriginal people in the justice system and keep us connected to community.

You are encouraged to register your interest if you identify as Aboriginal and have:

  • relevant skills experience to the above roles
  • an understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal community
  • an appreciation of a range of different cultures and demonstrated ability to support diversity and inclusion in the workforce.

You will be required to upload your current resume and a short cover letter.
