Salary range $171,091 - $191,622 plus statutory super

About the role

This role will require you to: 

  • Develop policy, strategic frameworks and Branch plans to lead the delivery of VIT's risk-based registration and teacher engagement functions.
  • Foster and maintain a strong and positive workplace and performance culture, high levels of staff engagement and capability, and inclusive change management processes.
  • Use data and feedback to evaluate, analyse, drive and report on activity within the Teacher Engagement and Registration Branch and work collaboratively to solve problems and improve performance.
  • Provide authoritative, specialist advice and reports to the Executive team, Chief Executive Officer, VIT Council and Committees that takes into account VIT's strategic objectives, community expectations, and the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
  • Influence the development of, and consultation about, policy across VIT - particularly in relation to teacher and early childhood teacher registration.
  • Contribute to the strategic and operational objectives of VIT at an executive level, including the development of VIT business systems. Model the Victorian public sector values, VIT behaviours, inclusive change management processes and foster a strong and positive workplace culture within the Teacher Engagement and Registration Team and across VIT. 

About you

As an experienced operational and strategic leader, you will have sound and practical knowledge of current process for managing registration / licencing or similar processes. You will have experience working with policy and stakeholders, and ideally a passion for child safety and experience working with the education sector. 

You will have strong people management experience, combined with a highly organised approach and a proven track record in achieving positive outcomes. In addition to this, you will have experience working in a regulatory or similar environment and expertise in delivering high quality services, managing and improving performance, and using data inform progress and decision making.
