  • Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model

About the role
We are seeking a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Specialist to lead the operationalisation of physical and environmental safety across VLA's offices and service areas. This role works closely with program and regional managers, practice leaders, and Health and Safety Representatives to design, implement and continuously improve safety controls across our diverse workplaces. From frontline legal services to office-based environments, your work will ensure VLA is a safe and responsive organisation for both staff and clients.

This role will provide both preventative and post-incident support to manage physical safety risks and collaborate closely with the Facilities and Security team. The role will also contribute to organisation-wide initiatives targeting areas of increasing risk where physical safety is a key concern

This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.

About you
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Significant experience in health and safety, including experience in undertaking risk assessments and supporting incident management responses.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with experience building relationships across diverse practice areas.
  • Ability to provide clear, practical advice and support during and after safety incidents.
  • A strong knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • A knowledge of VLA and/or the justice system and a commitment to VLA's vision and values.
