Position Details

This exciting opportunity, within the School Education Branch of the School Education and Funding Division, will make a significant contribution to development of school education reform proposals within a dynamic and challenging policy environment.

As a manager the role involves leading a small team closely with other departmental and external partners to consider school education policy issues, in particular how Victorian school education policy can drive improvements in educational services, and provide children and students with the knowledge and skills they need in the 21st century.  It also plays a key role in providing advice and analysis on intergovernmental relations and educational service delivery and performance policy issues.

The role requires sound knowledge of the public sector decision-making environment, and an understanding of education policy or ability to quickly acquire such understanding.

Successful candidates will be responsible for delivering complex policy and analytical projects in a way that delivers high quality products in a timely and easy to comprehend way.

Within this context, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong relationship and people management skills, as well as thought leadership on complex issues.
