About the role:
This newly created role will lead Victoria Legal Aid's Child Protection Program, ensuring the delivery of quality child protection and related legal services to legally aided clients across the state. The role will drive reform and innovation in child protection legal service delivery. This includes management of the design, development and implementation of initiatives and projects to improve the child protection system for the benefit of children, families and the community, with a focus on monitoring and evaluating their impact. At the head of a small leadership and project team, this role will be critical to ensuring a culture of high performance across the program while providing advice and guidance to the Executive Director and other senior leaders on strategy, policy, legal issues, law reform proposals and emerging issues in child protection.

About you:
You will have proven leadership experience in the public and/or legal sector, where you have demonstrated your ability to develop and meet strategic goals and effectively lead high performing teams to deliver. Your extensive knowledge and experience in child protection law, and strong communication and stakeholder management skills will see you well placed to succeed in this role. This will be underpinned by your knowledge and commitment to social justice principles, including the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within the justice system.
