Position Details

Reporting directly to the Director of ICT, you will be responsible for managing a team of 30 Software Developers.

Key duties & responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Oracle & BI team, Java & Business Process Management team and Lotus Notes/Domino development team (approx. 30 indirect)
  • Manage the provision of software support services relating to incidents, problems, service requests and application change requests, in accordance with ITIL-based procedures
  • Provide services to the Program & Project Services team in accordance with the PRINCE2-based and approved procedures, and delivering to agreed quality and service levels
  • Provide high-quality reporting, planning and strategic advice to senior management
  • Work closely with the IT management group to drive improvement and provide strong leadership
  • Develop, review, implement and adhere to relevant IT policies, standards and guidelines

Key skills & experience required

  • Significant  experience as a Software Development Manager in the Oracle and/or Java Space
  •  Proven leadership experience driving efficiency, accuracy and consistency through the development and application of smart, contemporary processes
  • Experience managing and delivering large-scale IT application development and support services in a complex and dynamic organisational environment with responsibility for business as usual as well as multiple concurrent project deliverables
  • Expertise in ITIL and IT Service Management, SDLC and Project Management principles 
  • Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills to identify, address and advise on information technology matters and risks
  • High-level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to consult and negotiate effectively with the team, senior stakeholders and customers
