About the branch
Led by the Chief Operating Officer, the Corporate Services branch provides critical strategic and operational support services to ensure the continual success and advancement of the VGSO. Balancing an appreciation of the complexities and nuances of the public sector, along with the requirements of operating in a competitive legal services environment, Corporate Services delivers proactive, effective and efficient services to VGSO's internal and external clients.

Functions within Corporate Services include but are not limited to; Finance, Business Development and Marketing, Information, Communication and Technology (ICT), People and Culture, Strategic and Business Planning, Business Support and Administration.

About the role
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Business Support & Records Team Leader will lead and coordinate administration of the business support function, including records management. This role will proactively initiate continual improvement of business support initiatives and processes, by driving change and a positive team culture.

The primary objectives of this role will be to:

  • Lead records management by liaising with key stakeholders to maintain compliance with recordkeeping legislation, regulations, and best practice;
  • Lead and manage the Business Support team (approximately 9 people);
  • Liaise with business support vendors;
  • Maintain and review business support contracts and policies; and
  • Manage corporate travel and external venue bookings.

The successful candidate
To succeed in this role, you will have previous team management experience with the ability to coordinate workflow and manage the performance of staff. You will have well-developed interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels within an organisation.

You will be a problem solver with the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement, have extensive experience in performing high level administrative duties and records management, while approaching tasks with a positive attitude and, where required, with great sensitivity.
