Position Details

The External Communications Coordinator reports directly to the External Communications Manager and the broader Social Marketing and Communications group and is expected to develop and nurture excellent relationships across the organisation and with key external stakeholders, including staff in government departments and agencies.

This dynamic role supports the External Communications team to share compelling stories and convey vital health information in the media, on social media and through engaging events.

The successful candidate also provides support to the broader Social Marketing & Communications teams, including supporting the execution of media and social media strategies, creating engaging content, monitoring and reporting, and various administration tasks.

You'll also plan, coordinate and deliverVicHealth events including digital and face to face events, managed in-house as well as with external assistance.

Remuneration: $77,510 - $93,175 (plus super and other benefits)

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or similar area
  • Demonstrable experience coordinating complex, multi-tiered face to face and digital events
  • Demonstrable experience in creating content for media and social media
  • Demonstrable experience in media relations & project management
  • Strong and dependable planning, administration, and organisation skills
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in data analysis, monitoring and reporting
  • Experience using Google Analytics, CMS, and social media for work purposes
  • Understanding of SEO
  • Experience working within communications, public health, community or government sectors preferred.
