About the role:
The Lead, Place-based Approaches has a close working relationship with the Manager, Place-based Approaches and the wider Policy, Impact and Strategy Group and is expected to develop and nurture excellent relationships across program units and key external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing the design, development and implementation of programs that strengthen the capability of the Victorian prevention workforce and other Placed-based approaches initiatives;
  • Engaging with and managing stakeholder relationships with advisory groups, peak bodies, sector networks and other health promotion and prevention focused organisaitons; and
  • Leading, specifying and coordinating the scoping, procurement and contract management activities associated with program delivery.

About you:
We're looking for someone who is able to provide effective liaison; have a strong ability to see and understand broader strategic vision; maintain relationships with stakeholders; and represent VicHealth in a professional manner at stakeholder events.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Health Promotion, Public Health or related field
  • At least 3 years' experience working in fields related to health promotion policy and practice
  • Sound understanding of the broader health promotion and prevention system
  • Knowledge and understanding of prevention and health promotion sector capabilities that support place-based approaches

Unit: Policy, Strategy & Impact

Tenure: Full-time, fixed-term until December 2025

Classification: VicHealth Grade D

Remuneration: $93,176 to $115,917 per annum (plus superannuation and benefits)
