Position Details
The Victorian Inspectorate (VI) provides oversight of the IBAC and other integrity, accountability and investigatory bodies and their officers, playing a key role in Victoria's public interest disclosure scheme.
This role requires demonstrated experience in handling complaints in an integrity or oversight context; or experience in a complaints, compliance or investigations role. A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as criminal justice, law, public sector administration or investigations is desirable. A working knowledge (or capacity to develop an understanding) of Victoria's public interest disclosure scheme will also be highly regarded.

Job Overview
Reporting to the Manager, Complaints, the Senior Complaints Officer performs a key role in the Complaints team by managing a caseload of the VI's complaints and public interest disclosures in accordance with the VI's Service Charter, complaint handling framework and relevant statutory framework. These complaints involve assessing a diversity of issues that can require research and specialist knowledge, such as allegations concerning the exercise of coercive powers and private examinations, the conduct of investigations at other integrity agencies and consideration of whether conduct could constitute improper conduct or detrimental action under the Public Interest Disclosures Act 2012.Complaints to the VI can be highly complex.
The VI is enhancing its IT environment to improve efficiencies in relation to remote access. While there is presently a level of flexibility with working arrangements for Senior Complaints Officers, this will increase once the relevant aspects of the VI's IT strategy are fully implemented.
