Position Details

The position requires demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and maintaining information and records management systems and frameworks, and knowledge of and the ability to apply the Public Records Act 1973 (PROV Standards), Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Victorian Protective Data Security Standards, Protective Data Security Framework, and Information Privacy Principles), and the Protective Security Policy Framework. A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as a Bachelor of Information Systems or Bachelor of Business majoring in Information Systems is highly desirable.

Job Overview

This position is responsible for managing and ensuring the security, integrity, accessibility and confidentiality of information and records within the VI. The Information and Records Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including the Victorian Protective Data Security Standards (VPDSS) and Public Record Office Victoria (PROV) Standards. The position is also responsible for reviewing all current information, data and records holdings (no matter the format or classification) to maintain the VI's Information Asset Register, including advising staff on classification and management of information assets, from creation to disposal.

 

The position works closely with ICT and operational colleagues, management, and external stakeholders to identify vulnerabilities, assess risks, and implement appropriate measures for the management of the VI's records.
