About the role

Salary range: $154,258-$209,792 plus 9.5% super

  • develop strategic frameworks and lead the delivery of risk-based registration and teacher engagement functions, in line with VIT's vision, purpose, regulatory approach and strategic plan
  • model the Victorian public sector values, VIT behaviours, inclusive change management processes and foster a strong and positive workplace culture
  • demonstrate strategic management skills and provide professional leadership, enabling individual and team effectiveness
  • contribute to strategic and operational objectives at Executive level, including the development of business systems
  • develop, promote and lead the implementation of strategic risk management processes associated with VIT's functions
  • implement change to integrate teacher services (registration) and customer service to provide end-to-end processing of teacher registrations, within Branch resources 
  • use data to evaluate, analyse and report on activity, and work collaboratively to solve problems and improve performance
  • provide authoritative, specialist advice to the Executive, CEO and Council that takes into account  strategic objectives, community expectations and the safety and wellbeing of young people 
  • establish reporting frameworks to deliver high quality and timely data reports, briefings and discussion papers
  • communicate and consult with a wide range of stakeholders at a state and national level
  • influence the development of and consultation about policy across VIT.

About you

As an experienced senior leader with extensive subject matter expertise in leading and managing a licensing / registration and customer service / engagement functions, you will have a proven track record of cultivating a strong and positive workplace and performance culture across teams. 

You will have experience working with a multidisciplinary team of technical specialists and a passion for child safety and experience working with the education sector.

You will possess strong stakeholder engagement skills, a proven ability to communicate complex concepts and issues at the highest levels within Government, and a proven track record in delivering quality outcomes which are in line with strategic plans and organisational objectives.

You will be a resilient and flexible leader, who expertly manages change and risk and is capable of driving a strong culture of performance in a complex and high-pressure regulatory environment. In addition to this, as the successful candidate, you will desirably have a tertiary qualification in public administration or management and must have senior management experience in leading the delivery of risk-based frameworks in registration / licensing in a regulatory environment.
