Position Details

About the role

Be part of a forward-thinking, risk based regulator where ideas and opinions are valued. This role will require you to:

  • Work collaboratively with the Teacher Engagement and Registration Assistant Manager to lead and manage staff members in the Branch, particularly while significant change is implemented, to enable individual and team effectiveness and efficiency, professional growth and positive engagement.
  • Lead and manage the implementation, reporting and continuous review of operational service delivery and stakeholder engagement for VIT registration functions.
  • Use data and business intelligence to report on application progress and the status of the teacher register. 
  • Prepare high-level reports, briefings and advice as required.
  • Assess and report on risk, maintain the relevant Risk Registers and develop and implement mitigations to manage risk. 
  • Participate in strategic planning and decision-making in relation to teacher registration and engagement. 

About you

Our ideal candidate will preferably have strong knowledge and understanding of risk-based regulation. You will ideally have a proven track record of managing and reporting on an end to end registration or licensing function, including triaging and processing of applications and high volumes of contact from stakeholders during the application and renewal processes.

You will be a strong leader with knowledge of stakeholder engagement strategies and a customer centric focus. You will have a proven ability to foster staff capability and positively influence organisational culture and a strong ability to contribute strategically to the development of business objectives.

You will be a future focussed leader with a strong organisational awareness, an ability to think strategically and a proven ability to drive a strong culture of performance in a complex and high-pressure environment. In addition to this, as the successful candidate, you will desirably have a relevant qualification in public administration or management.
