About the role

In the role of People Advisor, you will provide generalist support to the organisation across all facets of the employee lifecycle, delivering services as part of a collaborative Business Partnering & Advisory Services team. Working closely alongside our People Business Partners, you will provide advice, support and coaching to staff and managers across the organisation on a wide range of employment and people matters. This includes providing advice on the interpretation and application of people related policies, procedures and VLA's enterprise agreement.               

This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Demonstrated experience providing generalist people and culture advice across the employee lifecycle, including the management of employee relations matters and interpretation of policy, procedure and legislation, to ensure effective, efficient and compliant people practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to engage and influence a range of stakeholders across all levels of an organisation.
  • Sound judgement, integrity, insight and discretion when dealing with sensitive matters, and an ability to quickly build relationships which engender trust and confidence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team, contributing positively to team culture, operations, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Strong organisational skills, including an ability to manage competing work priorities to achieve work objectives and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and an ability to produce accurate, high-quality work.
  • A knowledge of the general business of VLA and a commitment to our vision and values.
