Position Details
- Full time ongoing position.
- Salary range: $87,799-$98,901 plus super.
- Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model.
About the role:
In this position, you will be responsible for providing legal information and advice to First Nations clients and helpseekers. This will include receiving referrals from both internal and external sources and delivering prompt and tailored information, via phone, email/webchat, or face-to-face interactions. Participate in Legal Help as a centre of excellence for triage, intake and legal and non-legal referrals and continue to best practice service delivery initiatives by taking up opportunities for professional development. Opportunity to participate in outreach and promotional initiatives aimed at engaging First Nations communities.
This is a special measures role and only First Nations people are eligible to apply, as per the Equal Opportunity Act 2010.
This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.
About you:
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Proven expertise in working collaboratively with the First Nations community, understanding and addressing unique needs Knowledge and practice experience in child protection, family, criminal and civil law matters.
- High level diagnostic and problem-solving abilities to effectively evaluate and resolve client requirements.
- High level communication and telephone skills.
- Knowledge of legal, community and welfare organisations and good referral practise.
- A current Australian practising certificate which entitles you to practise in Victoria as a government legal practitioner (mandatory).
